Antique Wood Sieve with Fine Mesh
This lovely round wood and mesh sieve was used in the early days to sift grain and flour. Overlapping bentwood bands in the Shaker style are secured by old metal tacks. Simple design - perfect for farmhouse or primitive decor. Possibly a restaurant wall or add to a collection of sieves.
The bottom rim is stamped with the number 916 which gives it a little extra charm. There is wear and the bottoms rim has what looks like what might be wormwood trails in the wood. However, it is structurally sound and the joints are tight. The color of the wood is lovely and the fine mesh has no tears. We think its a really charming piece.
It measures 8 3/4 inches on the outer rim. It is 4 1/4 inches deep.
